Doctors at the practice will only issue prescriptions if indicated for a medical reason.
You can obtain a repeat prescription by:-
- placing a repeat prescription request form (ie the green tear off slip on the reverse of your prescription) into Tudor Surgery's repeat prescribing box on the wall in ground floor reception.
- post
- enquiring at the front desk
- fax
- arrangement with a pharmacy of your choice
- ordering it online for which you will need to read and accept our terms and conditions before completing and submitting the online request form.
You should ensure that the items you require are requested clearly by ticking the appropriate box on the repeat request form. If you do not have a repeat request form, please submit your request in writing ensuring that your name, date of birth, address and the items you require are clearly indicated.
In order to process the large number of requests each day please note that 48 hours notice is required for repeat prescription requests.
The Schedule for ordering and collection is:-
- Order Monday - Collection Wednesday
- Order Tuesday - Collection Thursdays
- Order Wednesday - Collection Friday
- Order Thursday- Collection Monday
- Order Friday - Collection Tuesday
As we are not open on Saturday morning's you should ensure that prescriptions needed over the weekend are collected before 6:00pm on Friday evening.
Due to the high volume of requests received by the practice each day, prescriptions will not be processed earlier than the times indicated above unless for exceptional circumstances.
Please note that prescriptions will be prepared for collection. If you want it posting, please provide a stamped addressed envelope.
Patients should be aware that most pharmacies can now arrange for patients' prescriptions to be collected from the practice on their behalf. To arrange this please directly contact the pharmacy of your choice.
To promote safe practice prescription requests will not be taken by telephone unless you are house bound and have a prior agreement with the practice.
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. When the date of your medication review is due you will be asked to make an appointment with the doctor or practice nurse.
Antibiotics are not usually issued on repeat prescription. If you have been prescribed an antibiotic and your condition has not resolved then you should make an appointment to see the doctor again.
We only accept repeat prescription requests for items that have been previously prescribed by the doctor.
